An odd wagon referred to as a Ball Post delivered mail in Denmark in the early 1800`s I believe that it was depicted on a stamp or two as a centennial issue of their first stamp.... Can anyone help with the year...scott number even a picture...?
As as engineer I have to ask, how did the ball work? Outside of possibly protection from the weather, I see no real advantages over a more conventional container.
I have always liked those stamps, but never knew until now that they depicted mail wagons. I thought it was maybe some kind of sophisticated beer delivery system , as it looks more like a liquid container than anything else.
