I could use some help with this one. I know of course it's a Scott 319, and I've narrowed it to a Tp. II. I'm just not sure how to narrow it down further. It does seem to be a lake color. And it also seems to be from the lower right corner of a booklet of 6. Beyond that I don't know.
Well the 319f does not come in a booklet pane of 6. This has to be a corner (lower right) of a booklet pane of 6. The only Type II booklet panes of 6 are 319h and 319q.
I've been checking the color very carefully using a phone app along with a wonder color gauge. So it analyzes much closer to a lake color. This is why I have concluded it has to be a 319q variety. I just don't see any other conclusion.
It could be a fake I suppose (trimmed perfs), but the rounded corner points me away from that conclusion.
319F also comes in a booklet pane of 6 in scarlet. Number 319Fl This is from the Scott 2016 Catalogue. No price listed for it though. So might be rare.

"Stamp collectors don't go crazy, they just become unhinged."
Suzanne, are there any other booklet panes of 6 that have been added other than the one you mentioned? It may very well be a 319f.
Regarding the color, the picture I posted really doesn't do it justice. Like I said I have been carefully analyzing the color, and I stand behind my opinion. I was vacillating between carmine and lake because they are very close on my color reference. But in the end I settled on lake. This is based on both visual inspection and analysis using a color detection app on my phone.
Whether it's rare or not, it certainly is not in great condition. The brown toning is brown toning, not an artifact of photography or scanning. And the badly blunted perf and upper left corner indicate that it's been badly stored and handled over the years, probably by many collectors. Although it's instructive to try to identify it, its only value is as a filler in my opinion. Of course, on eBay, it might sell for thousands if it's "rare".
