smauggie 23 Jun 2015 05:34:48pm	Picked this up recently for my Auxiliary Markings cover collection. Thought I would share it for your enjoyment. It was missent by US POD officials to Paterson instead of Pittstown. The back of the cover is completely blank. Received postal markings were not required until 1879. 2 Members like this post. I love that they had to add a notation that Pittstown was near Center Bridge, no automated mail processing then. Trenton to Patterson is the length of NJ and took them two days. This cover no doubt traveled by train and horse drawn wagon. And that was a costly error for back then. The cover traveled at least 60 miles out of it's way! Login to Like this post
