First, these are not stamps. They are labels.
From what I can tell, Czech-Americans (known as Bohemians) in the United States formed in 1914 organizations to support and raise funds for an independent Czech state in Europe.
Various "bazaars" (festivals) were held in many cities around the USA (and continue to this day). At first, souvenirs, including publicity/propaganda labels, were sold to raise money. Tens of thousands of dollars were raised.
Capek, Thomas, The Czechs (Bohemians) in America. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1920. 293 p. Reprinted New York: Arno Press, 1969 is supposed to be the definitive book on this subject.
