I bumped this up as there was an inquiry about the new service specific forever stamps that will begin being issued by the USPS with the May 31, 2015 postage rate increases as approved by the Postal Board of Governors.

re: New Class of Forever Stamps
I find the US goes one way or the other with the animals on stamps. Either really pretty or lacking in taste. Canada and UK generally are very pretty when it comes to animals. IMHO

re: New Class of Forever Stamps
The earlier planned increase in certain US postage rates did not happen. Now, however, the Postal Regulatory Commission has approved 2 changes (as reported in the news May 21st).
Effective May 31, 2015, the second ounce rate will be 22 cents and the postcard rate will be 35 cents - a one cent increase for both.
So your greeting cards will need to be sent for 71 cents instead of 70 cents.
also higher non-standard surcharge and, for you postal history collectors, a higher meter first ounce rate, up from 48c to 48.5c, which will, of course, up all subsequent steps.
