I hope it's Ok to post this here as I do not believe Tom was a member.

Many members here knew Tom McVeigh from Stampoffers and other forums. Known to most as 'Mac', he passed away in March after a number of health issues. He was 47 years old.

I remember him very well and considered him to be a special 'Internet buddy'. We had many dealings together. He once purchased most of my Lundy Collection and paid for it even before he saw the material ! That's the kind of guy he was. He also had a strong interest in Philatelic Exhibition material, my main interest too, and he showed me some very nice items over the time.

It is a sad time for family and friends and the Philatelic community who knew him so well.

R.I.P. my friend.

Very sad indeed. His posts were always cordial, and he was always friendly and trusting. He was in the military, but had an incredibly gentle spirit.

He will be missed.

It is always saddening when we lose someone that we took for granted, and for someone so young I am sure many of his friends assumed that he would outlive them by many years.
