Image Not FoundThese two stamps recently crossed my desk. They are related to Russia, but what are they and where are they in the catalog? Thanks in advance to those who know more than I do. Happy

Good catch, Jansimon! The second one is easy, but the first one is relatively obscure. The first time I encountered that particular overprint, I searched for hours before I successfully identified it. Plus, there are many variations on the Armenia overprints not addressed in Scott (the catalog I was using at the time).

I used to have a large Civil War time collection, which I sold for a good price. It made me quite good in quickly identifying stamps like these. As a matter of fact, I think that both stamps are forgeries, given the poor quality. Especially the Armenian hand cancels are heavily forged.
