Auctions - Approvals | Over the past few years I have checked hundreds of the Canadian Lighthouse and QEII stamps hoping to find one of the counterfeit issues.
Last night I found a copy of QEII Scott #2298! The stamp jumped out at me and sure enough when I put it under my UV light the stamp was untagged. The stamp on the left in this scan is the counterfeit issue and the one on the right is the regular issue.
What would be a real find would be to have a cover returned by Canada Post that is stamped "Return to Sender. This item is being returned because it has been identified as Counterfeit Postage. Please call Customer Service at 1-***-***-**** and reference this number #******. Thank you." I've seen a copy of one clipping from a cover with this information printed on it over the stamp, but have yet to see a complete cover.
