The elephant in the room is the apparent 1990 cancellation on a 1996 stamp. I suppose that could have been an error in setting up the cancelling device, but it sure looks like a "0"...
ikey, could the characters immediately above "KENYA" be the year, instead? You have plenty of examples of the cancellation to look at...
Scott is probably valuing the stamps at double face value. In my experience from kiloware, Kenyan stamps saw plenty of postal use. I used to really enjoy going through African and Caribbean kiloware to see what was actually normally used postally. Of course, sources for recent kiloware have almost completely vanished.
Ikey, you travel to shows...there is a big on in Albany July 20/21 postal history,stamps,postcards....we usually go on the first day(Saturday) but i am having cataract surgery on the 19th so i better give it a day and drive on Sunday. phil
Phil, I'd offer to drop-by and pick y'all up on the way, but I've got a granddaughter visiting and, while she's congenial & easily amused, somehow two three-hour-drives and a stamp show seems like pushing it ...
Unless, of course, the Hamilton tickets, for later that week, are enough to make that up to her ...
Cheers,
