United States/BOB & Other : Nicaragua Mystery

06:41:50am		I have been trying to organize my somewhat small Nicaraguan collection and came upon this one stamp that is giving me problems. It is Scott No. 536c red surcharge inverted on what Scott says is a 2c on 10c bistre brown here is what the problem is I discovered that in the course of organizing my collection that the one I have that the seller listed as Scott No. 536 is 5c on 10c bistre brown why the difference. Please can someone help.

It is the second stamp on the second row left side.

One more thing the stamp beside the one I was enquiring about the inverted overprint the one with no overprint would this also be a Scott #O295 or a Scott #536a?

Thank you to nigelc of Stamporama for the information as to the proper Scott No.

Seller says that the inverted overprint one is indeed Scott #536c with not only the inverted overprint but also a wrong overprint, what do you believe is now the question?

Hi canadapatry,

I see your problem looking at the catalogues.

The stamp has an official surcharge OFICIAL C$0.05 as well as the earlier 1931 and Correos 1928 overprints.

The stamp with the normal surcharge is SG 0652 / Scott #O295.

Neither SG nor Scott lists the inverted surcharge (at least not in my old editions).
