11:03:01pm | I am trying to learn whether Canada (Scott) #256 "Farm Scene" is based on an actual farm scene. Here's the stamp:
Its "agricultural" companion in the set, #253 (showing a grain elevator and Great Lakes steamers), is based on a photograph, according to the Canadian Postal Archives, but the web site is silent about the source for the #256's image.
Does anyone have a reference book that provides this information?
I must say that this is a poor sort of stamp. Cows, but no chickens? What kind of a farm is this, anyway?! :^)
