I completely blew my budget on a box full of stamp stuff (mostly souvenir sheets, panes, some blocks, and stamp shipping supplies) Its the first time i've ever bought bulk stuff in mint condition so i kinda expected to pay more, but im going to seriously have to consider selling....... so i can buy more!!!! (i have a feeling that this is a vicious cycle lol) anyways, among the items were quite a bit of used material which im having fun going through ...i gotta say i love how these revenues look!!

B.O.B. Stands for "Back of book". This includes all stamps that are nor regular issue stamps, including Semi Postals, Air Mails, Postage Due, Revenues, Cut squares etc. etc. etc.

"B.O.B. Stands for "Back of book""
Yes indeed. But this is American lingo based on over reliance on Scott Catalogs. In many other catalogs, that distinction is different. Actually the Air Mail category should never have been in the back of the book, since air mail and regular issues stamps are interchangeables as far as usage is concerned. And why are souvenir sheets in Scott not all in the BoB, as they are elsewhere?
Still when folks here refer to BoB they mean all stamps listed in the front of the Scott catalogs, and by fiat, Air Mail are in the back. In Y&T (Yvert and Tellier catalogs) the pre-cancelled stamps are in the back. In Scott they are all over the place. I am sure there are other fuzzy distinctions that are unique to one catalog or another. And most catalogs have also some very strange numbering problems.

I collect singles and don't consider souvenir sheets stamps, but most have stamps on them and I want those. So.....I put the sheets in a separate binder and the singles into a BOB section.
